Make Up Lessons/Rescheduling
I have an extremely liberal make up lesson policy! Be proactive and let me know of conflicts as soon as possible. We will try to reschedule that same week if possible, but use available times later in the year if necessary. School holidays and early release days offer opportunities for catching up, and sometimes it may make sense to have a 60-minute lesson, meet twice in one week, etc.
Please note that this is not a blank check. I will do everything I can to make up lessons missed for legitimate conflicts for school, family, and illness. It is not acceptible to reschedule a lesson because you did not practice, forgot your books, or forgot to come to your lesson. This policy works because families have used it with care and respect and for that I am grateful.
The tuition covers 39 lessons through next summer (students beginning studies during the year will follow a pro-rated schedule and tuition). Ideally, we will have completed about 17 lessons by the end of December, then another 20-21 lessons from January through the end of the school year in early June. The remaining lessons can come in school breaks and next summer. Additional lessons will be available at a discounted rate next summer.
Students should practice at least 5 days each week -- in addition to your lesson. Practice every day when you can to balance those weeks when illness, vacations, work/school interrupt your regular routine. Regular daily practice is BY FAR the biggest factor in your success!
